Meet Our Practice
Partners in life and in practice, April Clark and Ed Richardson formed the architecture firm Clark | Richardson Architects in 2010 with the goal of creating contemporary experiences through form, sustainability and detail. April and Ed have creatively collaborated since meeting in Graduate School at Yale University School of Architecture in 2001. Based in Austin, Texas, Clark | Richardson Architects has completed numerous award winning custom residential and commercial projects in Texas, Arizona, New Mexico, Nevada and Alabama. C|R approaches each project with a fresh eye, first understanding our clients needs and vision, we then mold these ideas into elegant solutions that exceed all expectations.
DESIGN
We are design thinkers. We look at every problem with a set of design solutions. We believe that a successful built work is comprised of the best designed solutions to the questions formulated by the clients needs and lifestyle, the location of the project, the code, the budget & the function. Our work has received numerous awards including AIA Merit and multiple Local & Regional NARI awards.
FEASIBILITY
We know the process and the key players with the City of Austin to execute efficient feasibility studies. With our personal connections with the City of Austin we are able to pick up the phone and get answers quickly to the many questions that come up. We have worked with numerous commercial developers and are able to quickly uncover any potential problems with a property being considered. Our feasibility clients have included developers, commercial and residential spec builders, private investors and partnerships.
DESIGN APPROACH
Our background is very diverse. We have designed numerous office projects, dozens of custom homes, mixed use projects, amenity complexes, fitness centers, a church and even a creature under a bridge and up a creek! Our approach to each project is always the same however - our design is about you. When starting a project we take the time to listen to your vision, we seek to understand your goals with the project. For many people building a new home, or planning a renovation is a very personal experience and often the largest investment you will make. We take this very seriously and guide you through the often complex process making each step easier and fun!
